We are truly blessed to present our unique location for the first edition of HALTE Festival: The Bassin Peel Docks
The Bassin Peel is one of Montreal’s most unique and historic landmarks, having played a significant role in the development of Canada’s industrial era.
Its features—the iconic Farine Five Roses sign, Highway 10 overhead, the Montreal skyline, and the Lachine Canal—provide a one-of-a-kind experience in the heart of the city.
We acknowledge that Halte is located on unceded Indigenous lands.
The Kanien’kehá:ka Nation is recognized as the custodians of the lands and waters on which we gather today. Tiohtià:ke/Montréal is historically known as a gathering place for many First Nations. stage and scenography
Our goal is to transform the site in a safe, open but intimate experience for people to express themselves freely.
The infrastructures and environment of Bassin Peel played a crucial role in shaping the artistic direction of this project.
The industrial architecture, rich history, and surrounding elements inspired us to push the boundaries of event planning through thoughtful design .
We consulted architects to design the space in ways that facilitate movement across the site while maintaining a focus on an open yet intimate dancefloor.
